One of Australia’s largest electrical & communications contractors is looking to engage the services of an Electrical Engineer to join its expanding High Voltage Department.
This role provides the opportunity not only to be part of the design and planning phase of a project but also be involved with the implementation process.
The ideal candidate for the role will possess the following attributes and skills:
- Able to produce detailed designs for high voltage and low voltage distribution systems
- Computer modelling and analysis of high and low voltage systems including fault level calculations, protection coordination, arc flash assessment and earth system design.
- Drafting and preparation of conceptual and detail design packages.
- Testing and commissioning of transformers, cables, switchgear, control and protection systems and earthing.
- Self- manage time to meet given deadlines.
- Ensure all work is compliant to appropriate engineering standards.
Experience and Qualifications
- Tertiary Electrical Engineering (degree / adv. Diploma)
- Power system analysis and design
- Testing and commissioning
- Minimum 3 years practical experience
- Planning and management experience are advantageous
Desired Electrical Skills
- Well versed in AS2067, AS3000 and VSIR’s
- Experience in AutoCAD
- Experienced in ETAP modelling software
- Experience with software used to configure protection relays
- Practical experience with primary and secondary test equipment
- Proficient in word processing and spreadsheet software
Remuneration and package will be developed depending on abilities and experience.
