The Opportunity – High Voltage Technician

We are seeking qualified and experienced High Voltage (HV) Technicians to join our expanding Queensland Construction team.

This hands-on role involves working on complex HV installation, switching, testing, and commissioning activities across major commercial and infrastructure projects. The position is ideally suited to a safety-focused tradesperson who enjoys technical challenges, problem-solving, and delivering high-quality outcomes in demanding construction environments.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely deliver complex HV works, including installations, switching programs, terminations, isolations, testing, and commissioning of HV power systems
  • Safely perform HV and LV electrical works in accordance with project specifications, statutory regulations, and industry best practice
  • Complete HV installation, terminations, testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities
  • Undertake HV switching, isolations, lock-out/tag-out procedures, and associated safety documentation
  • Ensure full compliance with Stowe’s Health & Safety Management Procedures and policies
  • Maintain compliance with all statutory requirements, safety regulations, and Stowe procedures
  • Build and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships, supporting business growth in the HV sector
  • Contribute to the development and expansion of Stowe’s High Voltage operations within the construction market

What You’ll Bring

You are a technically strong and safety-driven HV professional with a hands-on approach and the ability to work effectively within complex project environments.

You will have:

  • Proven experience in High Voltage operations within construction and/or infrastructure sectors
  • Strong knowledge of HV networks, protection systems, switching procedures, and commissioning practices
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships
  • Demonstrated experience implementing HV safety and compliance requirements
  • A commitment to mentoring, developing, and strengthening team capability
  • Relevant trade certifications for HV Cable Jointing and HV Switching
