THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Accountant to join our Finance team based at our Rydalmere Head Office.

 

Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role offers an outstanding opportunity to develop a strong foundation across a broad range of finance functions including financial accounting, management reporting, budgeting, tax and business operations.

As an Approved Training Employer (ATE), Stowe Australia will fully support your Chartered Accountants (CA) studies while providing valuable hands-on experience and exposure across the business.

 

In addition to core accounting responsibilities, this role provides the opportunity to contribute to a range of exciting finance and technology initiatives across the business. This includes exposure to projects involving workflow automation, business process improvement, data warehousing, reporting enhancements, and emerging technologies, including AI-driven tools and solutions.

 

This opportunity is ideal for a recent graduate or final-year student with an interest in accounting and finance, as well as a curiosity for systems, technology, and the evolving future of finance operations within a large and successful Australian organisation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Key duties include:

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management reports, including month-end journals, variance analysis and reporting
  • Support the preparation of subsidiary company accounts and financial reporting requirements
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasting activities
  • Assist with general ledger reconciliations, transaction analysis and month-end processes
  • Support taxation compliance activities, including BAS, FBT, payroll tax, and income tax obligations
  • Support the management of fixed assets and company fleet reporting
  • Assist in maintaining cashflow forecasts and financial reporting schedules
  • Contribute to finance improvement initiatives and cross-functional projects
  • Assist with year-end audit preparation and liaise with external auditors
  • Support finance systems and reporting improvement initiatives across the business
  • Gain exposure to projects involving workflow automation, reporting enhancement and data warehousing
  • Work collaboratively with the Finance and Administration team to improve processes and support business outcomes
     

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Recently completed or currently undertaking a Commerce, Business or Finance degree with a major in Accounting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • A proactive attitude and genuine eagerness to learn
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and the broader Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Interest in finance systems, technology and process improvement
  • Curiosity around emerging technologies including AI and automation tools
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to work as part of a team
  • High levels of integrity, professionalism and discretion
  • Confidence in learning new systems and financial applications
  • Flexibility, resilience and a positive sense of humour
